Just handing in my fourth "Kourageous Kids" quilt. This one was drawn by a 12 year old girl named Brynn, who got cancer when she was 10 years old. She is now 15.The centre was machine appliqued and the hearts were hand appliqued on. Machine quilted. I added the bright green trim as I thought it was more fitting for a teenager as it seemed a bit dull until then. Hope she likes it. Her interests were cooking and dancing, so the hearts are made up of fabric with dance shoes on them, cupcakes, chocolates & cookies. I used all the leftover fabrics to do the backing, but forgot to take a photo of it.

Baby Tate's Quilt
Saw this cute panel at Wineberres in 2012 and knew it would make a cute baby quilt for a boy. My good friend, Vicki, had a new grandson and I made it for him (Baby Tate). I thought his older brother, Hunter, might enjoy the cars too. October 2012

Kokopelli
Saw this pattern and knew I had to make it for our good friends, Mike & Marilyn, as they love Kokopelli and since they were moving to Nevada for the winter it would be a nice housewarming gift for them. It is now hanging in their new home and they love it. Machine pieced, appliqued and quilted. Sept. 2012

Scott & Veu's Quilt
Just finished this queen size quilt for a well deserving family member (will name later as they don't know they're getting it). I had a lot of fun using these bright hand dyed fabrics which I purchased at 'Sitches' on Saltspring Island last summer while we were on holidays. The border is a Kaffe Fasset fabric. I had a problem deciding on the border fabric as the colours were so pure that nothing seemed to do it justice. Barbara Bettles did an excellent job quilting it for me and the sweeping feathers all over it just make the colours pop even more. The backing is a plain white, just in case the recipients want a break from the bright colours (and the quilting shows up wonderfully on the back too!) It was a lot of fun making it. Machine pieced and quilted in Fall 2012/Feb. 2013

Community Quilt (Charity)
Found the finished picture of the "Owls in the Tree" quilt. This was a Community Quilt that I made last summer as our Community Quilts had a little 'contest' asking members to make a baby quilt in the Fall of 2012. Found the owl pattern in a magazine and added the ears and then put them in a tree. It was lots of fun and I learned a few things along the way as I had to divide the sky fabric into threes before I sewed the owls in as I they were not appliqued on. Quilted it with 'clouds'.

Baby Noah's Quilt
Made this flannelette baby quilt from a dinosaur panel I purchased at Wineberries awhile ago. Love the bright colours! It was given to Baby Noah Elliot (good friends of my son, Blair). Made in Feb. 2013.
Community Quilt (Charity)
These fabrics were donated to our guild's Community Quilts. It was partly cut out and I finished the rest and put it together and quilted it. It'll probably be donated to an Alzheimer's residence for a wallhanging. Made in Feb. 2013
