"African Sunrise"

This is called "African Sunrise", hence all the bright, wild fabrics (some of which are actually African prints). Took this class from a fellow guild member, Carol Macnamara, in 2012 and finished it in the fall of that year. It's foundation paper pieced, meaning that you actually sew the fabric to the paper pattern and then when you're finished you tear off the paper. It makes for a much more accurate block. I machine quilted it myself, even tho' you can't see it in the photo. It hangs in our foyer.
